FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Economics Department awards graduate assistantships and endeavors to provide some financial assistance for as many students as possible. A tuition waiver is included in the assistantship award. Assistantships are awarded initially on the basis of academic record. The department generally does not award assistantships to students beyond the first three years of doctoral study. The department does occasionally hire fourth-year or other unfunded students to assist in faculty research, teach courses, staff the computer lab, or provide grading assistance.
