Friday Panel on “What Heterodox Economics Has in Common”

Just a reminder about the panel this Friday in the JJR (BUC 308) at 1:30pm. We are very excited to have the following faculty as participants:

Dr. Korkut Erturk

Dr. E.K. Hunt

Dr. Matias Vernengo

Dr. Mary Wrenn (Weber State)

This is a great opportunity to reflect on what it means to be a “heterodox economist” in theory and in practice. In addition, we will get a chance to hear Dr. Hunt speak on the history of heterodoxy in the department.

We encourage all economics students and faculty to join us for this event, not to mention the party that will follow at Dr. Vernengo’s house!!

As the designer of this site, I’m proud to announce that the alpha version of the HESA webpage is online.  New features will be enabled over the coming weeks and months, but for now, the initial functionality is here.  We can post articles, make comments, and announce events.

Still on the docket are the book list, syllabi for teaching heterodox economics, links to other heterodox resources, and so on.

I’m still accepting suggestions for changes to the look of the site, as well as feature requests.  Post a comment if you want to contribute an idea or two!
