Economics 6620: Macroeconomics for Masters
I will teach Macro for Masters students during Fall semester every year. I will continue to combine a theoretical treatment at an above intermediate level with international case studies to provide an "applied" dimension for the students.(I will be
using Blackboard for course management of this course, and many materials will be available there). In addition, I will use a varierty of articles that will try to deal with how Macro has changed since we entered the crisis in 2007. We will also look at a "history of Macroeconomic thought" text to isolate those elements that may be helpful in reconstituting Macro in light of the current crisis.
Economics 2020: Principles of Macroeconomics (on-line)
I developed and will teach a Principles of Macro Economics course to be offered on-line at the University of Utah and at Dixie State College. This is part of the University's collaboration with Dixie State College whose second priority was to increase the offerings of Principles courses. We have tried to provide maximum content for the students in this Macro and in a Micro variant so they can use whatever type of information is most useful to them. We have on-line office hours, a great deal of e-mail contact, and threaded discussions, as well as extra credit opportunities to examine the contemporary debates.
