My Research:
The literature on globalization has focused on the movement
of capital and commodities and the flow of jobs overseas. The
other dimension of globalization is the movement of labor to the United
States. Immigrant labor are found in many industries. One of the industries
with the most immigrants is construction. My research analyzes why
construction is amenable to the use of immigrant workers and what the
effect of employing increasing numbers of immigrant construction workers
has on 1) native born workers, 2) the industry itself and 3) the immigrant
workers themselves.
For my masters degree, I did research in international finance
and my focus in my bachelors work was in marketing.
